Part 3: #Convention 2012

Convention 2012: Saturday

Make-n-Takes: We started our last day (boo hoo) by doing the Make-n-Takes.  All 3 of us went together and shared the stamp set.  We only brought one set, I HIGHLY recommend doing this with your roommates so you don't have to carry them around all day, that bag gets heavy!!  I didn't love the Affection Collection set at first but it's growing on me... see the bottom of this post to check out my projects using it!  I also completed the You're Amazing scrapbook page (yah me) this morning.  Almost done with my goal of completing all convention projects!

I am Savy with Donna Griffith, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith and Laura Millan:  I enjoyed this class because it will filled with demonstrations and TONS of great ideas!  One of them made awesome cards using a shape cut-out with ribbon in place of the shape.  (IE: you punch out a flower - where the blank space is from the flower you place different strips of ribbon.)  It is a COOL technique and really showcases our ribbon.  They showed ideas to use for entire classes as well as quick demos.

I am a First-time Recruiter with Jill Leigh: this was a great class to motivate us to find recruits.  I loved how the two demos sat in chairs (talk-show style) and chatted about their experiences with recruiting and building their downline.  It gave some good ideas as well as motivation!  And there is nothing better than a talk show!

Closing Session
Sara Douglass presented showing TONS of ideas using Mason Jars.  I'd love to share some of these (baby, wedding, thank you, food, laundry, etc... themed) but I am saving them for our blog.  She had some awesome ideas and I will definitely be case'ing some of them.  In case you don't know - in the stamping world "CASE" means "Copy and Share Everything".  The thing I loved the most about her demo was that it can be duplicated easily!  I love that!

Carrie Cudney came out onto stage in full costume, playing the bagpipes with her brother.  It was so cute!  I am missing my notebook and for the life of me I cannot remember what she presented on... I will update you on that tomorrow!

Shellie came back out onto stage and discussed with us the Ronald McDonald House charity and how SU! supports so many wonderful groups, but specifically RMHC.  $3 from every stamp set sold goes back to the charity plus the base donation that SU already commits.  At the end, she gave us EACH a Moving Forward set!  It is so cute!  I just love the tricycle and the boat!  So excited to have an entire class centered around this set!  We also received the Mixed Medley stamp set at the very end of her presentation!  It's a cute set and has forced me to order the new 1 1/4 scallop circle punch.  :)

My experiences at convention were awesome... with my 3 posts I didn't mention the milestone marches, awards, food, or swaps.  I will be randomly posting about these things as time goes by.  Please enjoy the following projects from the Affection Collection set that we received!

The picture above is a scrapbook page we made using the You're Amazing set.  I love the different shapes that are including in this page (see below).  I am looking forward to getting a package of these protectors soon!  It will work perfect for my next scrapbook class!   By the way, the brown spot is for a picture and the "winner" part is for journaling!
