Technique Tuesday

Cutting using Framelits
One of the biggest complaints I hear or see about the new Framelits is that they don't always stay in place when you use them through the Big Shot.  At first, I was using post-it notes to hold them in place, and although it worked quite well, I was looking for an easier solution (everyone knows that teachers need our post-it notes!).  In talking with my upline Amanda Coughlin, she shared what she had been doing!  To my surprise, it worked!

Here is what she figured out:
1. Purchase a sheet of self-adhesive Magnet and an extra set of Standard Cutting Pads.

2. Trim the Magnet to just a bit smaller than the cutting pads.  Adhere to the cutting pad.  This is where I made a mistake, I didn't purchase self-adhesive magnet sheets, so I used a lot of Sticky Strip.

3.  Place stamped image on the magnet cutting pad.  Place the framelit where you want it - you will feel it cling slightly to the pad.  Put a non-magnetic standard cutting pad on top to make the sandwich.  Send it thru the Big Shot.

4.  You end with a PERFECT frame around your stamped image.

5.  HINT: You will be able to see the cut in your magnet, do not fear, it will continue to work.  Personally I wouldn't recommend putting magnet on both cutting pads - when you put the sandwich together, it may be attracted to your framelit and may move.

I hope you enjoyed the picture tutorial.  Eventually I plan to make some videos - but for now, this is the best it gets!  Stay tuned for video techniques in the future!  Happy Stampin'!
