Saturday KISS card

Rainy Saturday = KISS card.  KISS stands for "Keep it Simple Silly",  I prefer to use silly instead of the word most people use - it's the teacher in me!   As you can see I got inspiration from a package of napkins I found in my pantry the other day.  It's funny where we draw our inspiration from!

Card Supplies:
Flower Fancy and
Melon Mambo and Peach Parfait card stock and ink
Whisper White card stock
Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise ink
Staz-on Black ink

Come back tomorrow to see some fun Easter cards and projects!

Happy Birthday with a Cherry

It's been over a week since I blogged... so sorry!  Here is a quick card I made tonight!  More details to follow.  I LOVE the look of Crystal Effects on the cherries.  It makes them look SO real!  :)  And since I love cherries, this is one of my favorite cards!

I find it SO much easier to make a pretty bow with the Satin ribbon than any other of SU! ribbon.  (The stripped comes in a close second!).

Colors:  Old Olive and Real Red
DSP: Summer Smooches **Sneak Peak**
Stamp Sets: A Words For You and Mouthwatering

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #109

Lately I have really enjoyed taking part in challenges.  It not only gets my creative juices flowing, but it allows me to share my work with other stampers joining the same challenge.  I really LOVED the rainbow challenge because I love the colors of the rainbow all together!  :)  It didn't take me long to pick the colors (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point and Concord Crush), nor was it hard to pick the stamp set (Circle Circus).  Circle Circus really works well with loads of color.  I did two cards and although it was hard to pick just one for the challenge, I liked this one better...
I created my own "DSP" by stamping the various Circle Circus stamps all over the background.  Then I punched out one of each color and layered them onto their coordinating circle.  The Daffodil Delight satin ribbon really compliments the colors and the Happy Birthday came out so crisp and clean!  I love it!
For my second card I decided to use the Take A Spin stamp set from SU!  I love the way this card turned out as well.  I accidently cut the background the wrong size but decided to use it and punch out rainbow colored circles for the bottom!  This card works for anyone!

The Paper Players #85

This challenge works perfect for me because I LOVE spring in Florida!  It means a lot of things to me, but mostly it means family and friends come to visit.  One of the best things about living in the sunshine state is that everyone likes to come visit during the winter (aka: snow) months!

I took the general idea for this card from the IBC and then made it my own.  I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set, punch and my favorite die, "Top Note".  Exact card details to follow after I get a good nights sleep....

Freshly Made Sketches #24

Sketch Challenge
I have been wanting to get into some sketches so today is that day!  I love how the card turned out and the colors make me excited for my upcoming Spring Break (so there is some ice cream at the beach in my future!).  I focused on using Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade, don't you just love the In-colors?

PPA Color Challenge

The challenge was to use Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke and any other color.  I decided on Island Indigo after consulting the SU! Color Coach.   I have been needing some men's cards and decided that the two greens really would work great!

I used the Just My Type stamp set that is offered in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I absolutely LOVE this set.  It really works for a quick and easy card.  I used Staz-on black ink and then colored in the parts that did not look "perfect".  I also roughed up the edges of Lucky Limeade paper.

Supplies:
Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo card stock
Staz-on Black ink
Just My Type Stamp Set
Island Indigo Bakers Twine
Always Artichoke Denim Ribbon
Antique brad
Striped Embossing Folder

March Blog Hop

For this month's hop I wanted to do a 3-d project using the Everybunny stamp set in the IBC.  I had intended on making a card and a basket using this set but my creativity got in the way and I ended up with two 6x6 scrapbook pages.  I am quite pleased with how they look and I love the color combo!

Everybunny Stamp Set
Card Stock and Stampin' Write Markers: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride and So Saffron

Blender Pen and Basic Pearls
Certainly Celery and Designer Twitterpated Buttons

My card this month brings spring to mind with all of the bright spring colors!  Living in Florida, spring visits us quite early (or some may say our winter is spring!)... So by mid-February I am ready for the beach and "summer" fun.  Of course that also means I am changing all of my decorations around the house to bright colors.  This card fits right in with all of those colors!
