Swallowtail Day 2 - Ink to Stamp Technique

Swallowtail Day 2
Welcome to Day 2 using the beautiful Swallowtail stamp!  If I haven't convinced you to order this stamp yet, I am willing to bet you will HAVE TO OWN it by the end of Day 4!  I do need to note that if I did this card again, I'd "cut" the butterfly on the complete side (left here) inside of the incomplete side (see how the right wing is flat on the top?

How do I create this card?
I am so glad you asked...

Follow these simple steps:
1.  Stamp your image with VersaMark ink and immediately start "coloring" the butterfly randomly.  I used several of the "brights" collection markers.  TIP: Make sure you color light to dark so you don't pick up the dark colors on your light colored markers.
2..  Huff all over image to "warm up" the ink.  (Remember huffing on a window in the winter to write on it?  Same idea!!)
3.  Stamp image.  I used a 3.75x5 piece of Whisper White Card Stock.
4.  Quickly sprinkle HEAT and STICK powder onto the image.
5.  Heat image using your heat tool until the color changes slightly and gets glossy.
6.  Quickly sprinkle with Dazzling Diamond Stampin' Up! glitter.
7.  Heat set again using the #1 setting on your heat tool.  Say, "Ohhh... so pretty!"
8.  Color your sentiment the same way as the butterfly... emboss as desired.
9.  Use an exacto knife to trim around one side of the butterfly.  Make sure you don't cut into the embossing - cut slightly around the image so the embossing doesn't pull apart.
10.  Layer a small amount of Designer Series Paper under butterfly.  Attach butterfly to layers.

11.  Sit back and enjoy your amazing creation!
