Fab Friday #19

Welcome to Fab Friday #19

We took a break last week for the holiday... and we are back this week with a sketch challenge!  I loved this sketch because it's basic.  When I am making cards at 6am before work - I need simple or basic!  Here's the sketch:
I wanted to use retiring products in this post since Friday is the last day for the Occasions catalog!  Boo!  One of my favorite products is the pinwheel die - I really hope that Stampin' Up! doesn't take it away... please, please let it stay!  The other item I just LOVE from the Occasions Catalog is the Wishes Your Way Stamp Set.  Here's what I came up with:

If you are wondering where this wonderful printed came from - my favorite stack - the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  I LOVE the polka dots.  You are probably tired of me saying that lately, aren't you?  I used the color combo of Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point.  I love the bright colors!

Please check out the blogs of the other fabulous designers from our team:

Thanks for stopping by to check out our challenge!  I can't wait to see your creations!

Summer Silhouette and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

This card is what we will be making during the June 9th class using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  I just love the combination of Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana together.  YOU can start ordering these colors on Friday at noon!
I decided to add a doily into the mix with one of the Antique Brads.  I think it adds the perfect touch!  I used the tone of tone of the same ink with the pattern at the bottom.  I am just in love with this card!  Do you love that sentiment?  Everything will be okay, even if we can't see what OK is yet.  :)  It's quite the true story.  That sentiment is from the new Really Good Greetings stamp set.  I definitely think it is "really good".

Here are the images in the Summer Silhouettes stamp set if you wanted to see them!  They are perfect for the upcoming summer months!

Blue Ribbon for Father's Day

Father's Day is coming, are you ready?
We will be making this card at my June Kids Class.  I don't have a "Dad" sentiment and since most kids don't call their "Dad" Father, I decided to use a mini set I got for a $1 somewhere last year (shame on me, I know).  I wanted to make this card as simple as possible, but manly as well.
Here are the colors that I used: Soft Sky, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  The Midnight Muse layer is embossed using the Chevron Embossing Folder.

I am really starting to fall in love with the Blue Ribbon stamp set!  It's perfect for graduation (see previous post HERE), baby cards (see post coming soon) or even just to celebrate someone you love in your life!  Check out these versatile images:
You can get this set in my online store for just $20.95 for the clear mount set (#125981) - it's also available in wood mount if you want that ($28.95/ #125979).

Fitting Occasion Birthday

I am cranking these cards out for my workshops coming up and this is another for a Kids Class.  This card is another CASE from a fellow demonstrator - Danielle at www.stampenvy.ca created this card.  The featured stamp set is Fitting Occasion which is one of the cutest sets that I most recently earned!
With a few minor changes, I made this card my own.  The DSP used is from the retiring Brights stack.  I am still trying to use up this DSP before my new stuff comes in next week!  I LOVE the polka dots and strips but I am SO EXCITED for the chevron that is in the new stack!  I added a zig zag strip of Silver Glimmer paper to really make this "girly" for the girls in my class.  They LOVE anything that sparkles and shines!
Here are the other things included in Fitting Occasion (#127049 $27.95):

The sentiment, "Wishing you a twirly-whirly birthday" is from "Wishes Your Way" which is discontinuing on June 3rd - so get it today if you want it!  I just love the sentiments in this set!  It's only $13.95 (#129156) - which is a bargain for all of the sentiments included:

SHOP NOW to order this set or anything else you've been "needing"!

See you tomorrow for another card from June's kids class that is just for the favorite Dad in your life!  :)

Bug Me Birthday using the Stamp-a-ma-jig

Today I have a simple CASE from Andi Potler.  This is my second time CASE'ing one of her cards so I am going to send you over to her website to check it out HERE!  I love her work and find it very easy to CASE (Copy and Share Everything).  We will be making this card in my June Technique Class on June 9th - contact me for more information if you are in Tampa.
I am still in love with the Designer Series Paper Polka Dot Parade - and in this card I used the colors from it: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Marina Mist and Rich Razzleberry.  I used the same colors on the caterpillar - I colored each "bubble" using a marker and then stamped.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure they aligned perfectly.  I just LOVE the bright colors of this card!

As a side note, in case you want to CASE this card too, I cut the patterned strips at 3/4".  This allowed them all to fit on the 4"x5 1/4" Basic Black background.  This shimmery Real Red brad brings just enough color to the basic strip.

Thanks again to Andi for the awesome inspiration!  Happy Memorial Day and I will see you back here tomorrow morning for another card in one of my upcoming classes.

Round Array Flower Bouquet

It seems like I just keep creating cards for classes and this is one of the cards we will be making in June at my Women's Group at church.  This card idea was inspired by my friend Michele.  She doesn't have her own blog (yet) so I can't send you to her blog, but her creations are AMAZING!  :)  This card uses some new colors and the new "Round Array" stamp set that was offered to everyone early.  Can you believe I haven't used it yet?  No?  I can't either!
I used Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi for the stems.  The stems measure about 1/3" wide and I did use retired ribbon because I don't have any white ribbon in stock that is current!  I put a rhinestone in the center of the two bottom flowers.  I felt like the white was too much since I didn't emboss it so I added the extra sentiment from the "Blessings for Heaven" stamp set.

My online store is always open so feel free to shop around during your long weekend:

Enjoy your long weekend, I know I am enjoying the extra time with family and some good ol' fashioned pool and beach time!  Thanks for reading and come back tomorrow for another cute card!

"All Dressed Up" Fasionably Late

I saw a version of this simple card on Pinterest.  I can't find the original owner but I appreciate their simplicity.  Isn't it so very classic, yet fun?  My favorite part is that cute little hanger!!!
I decided to emboss the bottom half of the dress and leave the top half plain!  When I stamped the sentiment it left a little shadow so I added the rhinestones and made it look like I made to do that!  Isn't that the best when you can cover up a "mistake"?  Although there are no mistakes in creativity!

Supplies:
Whisper White and Melon Mambo Card Stock
Melon Mambo ink
Dress Up Framelits #130101
Rhinestones
All Hung Up Clips

"Have a Cool Summer" Treat

Have a Cool Summer!!

Can you tell I am ready for summer break to get here?  Only 9 more days after today!  I always make some kind of treat for the last day of school for my students.  For the first time in a long time I came up with a treat for my class all on my own, without the help of pinterest.  :)  I am quite proud of myself on this one!

Here's the background: I bought these popsicles at the Dollar Tree for myself. Who doesn't love a cool treat on a hot day?  I was making a card using the *retiring* Mouthwatering stamp set and thought, "wow, I could put those in a treat bag and make a topper."  Here is the first step:
Then I thought, "I could make a tag on my computer and print it out to go with it."  So I printed off "Have a cool summer" and attached it.  Viola!  Here's the finished product:
Supplies used:
Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper
Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Card Stock
Mouthwatering Stamp Set
Modern Label Punch and Word Window Punch

"Easy Events" Flowers

I am in need of several Thank You notes for Teacher Appreciation.  This is one of the cards I made to give out!   I used the retiring Easy Events Stamp Set and retiring Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and the Easy Events set.  I just love these 3 little flowers paired together with rhinestones in the centers.  The bright colors remind me of my upcoming summer break in 12 days.
Here are the supplies I used:

Ink: Basic Gray
Ribbon:  SAB Retired Tangerine Tango

Cupcake "Easy Events"

I am so sad the Easy Events is gone in a few weeks!  I CASE'd both of these cards from a friend in a stamping group with me.  I am trying to use up my DSP Stacks (why did I wait until now to use them up?).  This first card uses the Pennant Builder punch.  I am not a huge fan of Pennants but I love this card!
I used the So Saffron and (retiring) Certainly Celery DSP's and markers.
This card literally took 10 minutes to make!
I did CASE this idea but I added the Chevron Embossing Folder (don't you LOVE it?).  The splash of Melon Mambo makes this card so pretty!  I might have to use this card in my July cupcake class (to celebrate my birthday).

Go get yourself Easy Events before it's GONE, GONE, GONE on June 3rd!  The clear-mount set is $23.95 (#123225).  SHOP HERE NOW!!!

You are my Sunshine Treat

I made these treats for my team at work.  I am going to give them this during the last week of school!
I used the You are my Sunshine single stamp and the brads from Build a Posie set.  I bought the Lemonheads candy at the Dollar Tree and used half the box.  :)

Colors used:  Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight
DSP used: Sunshine and Sprinkles
Clear Treat Bags

Have a SUNSHINE FILLED day!  Marc and I are going to the beach today so I will have a sunshine filled day for sure!

Cute Baby Onesie

Although I used retired paper (sorry but I love it), I used current stamps.  The "Let the Cute Begin" stamp comes from the Best of "Babies and Brides" May set.
I used the wheel with the Baby Onesies on it.  My paper snips came in handy to cut out one of them.  I attached a hanger and then popped it up using dimensionals.  I just love how it looks...

Come back tomorrow for a really fun and summery project!

Mr. and Mrs. Wedding

I got this card idea from the Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I didn't do it exactly like it was shown in the catalog but I love it!  The doily is perfect for a wedding card and I just love the little flowers with pearls in the center!
The Designer Series Paper is from the Subtles Paper stack and it will be gone on June 3rd!  I used the So Safron and matched it with the Basic Gray Card Stock.

Check back tomorrow for more cards!  :)

Blue Ribbon Graduation Card

I was asked to create a graduation card for a friend.  And then I decided I should make several in the local school colors to sell at the Vendor Fair this weekend.  I don't have a lot of grad school but the Stampin' Up! Blue Ribbon set works PERFECT!
I am so SAD to see the stamp set Word Play retire at the end of this month (that's the "Go" stamp you see on the left).  This is my favorite "go to" stamp set.
In both cards I used Whisper White, Night of Navy and then added Real Red to the bottom card.

Please leave me comments!  I love to see what everyone thinks of my cards!  Also, I have a set of 4 markers to give to the first person who makes a purchase in my online store TODAY!

As a bonus, I will send out a selection of Designer Series Paper and ribbon to a random comment placed by May 18th at 6pm.

Laughter and Love Cake

I am trying to make a variety of cards to have available to sell at a Vendor Fair this Saturday.  This is one of the cards I came up with:
I used the Love and Laughter Stamp Set (isn't that cake adorable?) with Real Red and Basic Gray inks. I layered Whisper White on itself for a simple, yet classy, look.  I added pearls to the centers of the flowers (which I stamped exactly on the cake using my Stamp A Majig).

Lego Birthday Card

Happy Birthday to my nephew!  He turned 6 about a week ago!  Wow, how time flies!  He is in LOVE with legos.  He is even able to follow the directions and put them together himself!  I am such a proud Auntie!  :)
This card was so easy!  I just punched on several circles and popped them up on the square and rectangles.  I used the Brights Designer Series Paper stack, the polka dots Real Red and Daffodil Delight strips.  The blue is Pacific Point which finishes off this bright and cheerful card.

I cased this card from a website and I can't find the original link... so if it's yours, please give yourself credit!  Thanks for checking out today's creation!

Spring Sampler Thanks

I CASE'd this card from Andi Potler from a Facebook group that we are in together.  I just love the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series paper!  I am going to be so SAD when it's gone on June 1st!  I just ordered myself another packet of it so I can continue to use it!  That's the first time I have done that!
This stamp set is another set that retires on May 31st.  It's called "Spring Sampler".  There are all sorts of cute spring (and summer) images!  I love how bright and cheerful this card is!  I plan to make smaller 3x3 versions as Thank You's for my class (for Teacher Appreciation week).  The cloud Embossing Folder is also leaving us on May 31st.... so many cute items being retired with the ending of the Occasions Catalog (but so many awesome items coming out the same day with the new Annual Catalog).

DSP:  Sunshine and Sprinkles #126922

Best of... Brides and Babies

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!
I was excited to see the new Best of stamp set.  Stampin' Up! is celebrating it's 25 years by releasing a "Best of" set each month.  May is Brides and Babies!  I just LOVE the images in this set...
I need to create some cards to sell at an upcoming event so I decided to use the image from this set.  I plan to make them in different colors.  I really LOVE the white bow with the silver sparkle paper!  It's so classy but so, so pretty!
Colors used: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder.

If you'd like to order this stamp set, you can CLICK HERE to visit my online store.  This set is available only in clear mount, it's #133482.

Fitting Occasion Birthday

I saw this card in my Stampin' Success Magazine (ask me how you can get this magazine as well!!!).  I was instantly drawn to the colors, which happen to be two of our new in-colors for 2013-2015.  Costal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I haven't used Mixed Bunch in awhile so I was excited to ink it up... and I love it just as much as I did before!
Believe it or not, this card requires 3 different stamp sets!  Fitting Occasion, Mixed Bunch and Creative Elements.  Isn't it so pretty?  It's a non-traditional sized card so I will need to make an envelope for it, but I will need a tutorial for that (coming soon).

The new catalog launches in 20 short days!  Do you have your copy?  If not, feel free to email me at: pam718steckman@gmail.com or leave a comment below and I will be sure to get a copy out to you!

Fab Friday #18 with Everything Eleanor

Welcome to Fab Friday #18
This week we have a color challenge for you!  I have to admit, after using bright and cheerful colors, I was not very excited about this challenge!  I almost didn't participate because I just wasn't into the colors.... but then I started creating using Everything Eleanor and decided that I was liking what I was seeing!  Here is what I created:
I originally made this card with all intention to give it to my boyfriend's mother but then I decided it was perfect for my aunt - who is like a mother to me!  Plus, I let Marc help me make his mom's card!  My favorite part is the *retired* lace ribbon and the little birdie on a perch!  What do you think?
This is the inside of the card.  I have been getting better about adding details to the inside of the card, as well as to the envelope.  It's so much cuter that way, right?  I should mention that my grandma Steckman"s (Nannan) first name was Eleanor - she didn't go by it but it still reminds me of her!

Thanks for joining us!  Check out the other designers blogs here:

Dress Up for a Birthday

I wanted to get this CUTE set when I first saw it but I don't make a lot of cards for young girls so I didn't buy it.  I was asked to hold a party for girls 8-10 years old so I figured I could "earn" this set from another workshop I recently had... so that's what I did.  I have to admit I was VERY excited to ink it up!
The idea for this card came from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog.  I adjusted some different things but the stamped panel was the same.  I added the flag - which is a new stamp set offered in the Hostess benefits area of the new catalog.  So super cute!  I used Wisteria Wonder and Melon Mambo for this card.  I can't wait to make the other 3 projects for you to see as well!

Do you want this stamp set?  ORDER NOW to get it mailed directly to your doorstep.

Baby "Label Love"

I made this card for a healthy new baby in my family: Savannah Mae who was born on May 6th!  :)
Although the paper and elephant stamp are both retired - the new "cutest baby" stamp is not!  This stamp comes from a new set called "Label Love" and has a coordinating punch that matches.  AND you can punch out the centers and pop them up like I did here.  Super cute!  Perfect for this mailable card!

Colors used: Perfect Plum and Blushing Bride (coming May 31st)

Same Layout, Different Colors

I used this same layout for a card for the Blog Hop last week.  I LOVE this layout!  Thanks Stampin' Connection for helping me out (SC is a magazine for Stampin' Up! demonstrators).
I used some new colors in this card: Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slushie, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz.  Don't you love the colors combined?  I am sorry I used a retired stamp set (Tropical Party) but the sentiment is BRAND NEW and not released.

My boyfriend helped me make this card for his mom. We ended up putting some "bling" on it but I never took a picture!  Hope you enjoy it!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad "Best of" Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Best of... 25 years" with Stampin' Up!  This month we celebrate ANY retired or retiring products.  If you haven't seen the list that will be retired in June, contact your SU! demonstrator now!  :)

You will see from my 4 cards that I love anything beach and BRIGHT colors!
This card uses the first set I bought from Stampin' Up back in 2003 BEFORE I moved to Florida.  I loved bright colors and beachy stuff even then!  This stamp set is called "Sparkling Summer" and I added a non-SU stamp because it's perfect (don't tell anyone).  I used Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

I also bought this stamp set at the same time as the one in the prior card.  It's called Fishy Friends.  When I made this first SU! purchase (I still remember it) I got two packs of card stock (now retired: Blue Brocade and Sage Shadow) because I wanted to make the card in the Idea Book.  I never made the card - so I made a "version" tonight.  I added one of the new In Colors for 2013-2015, it's called Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't have the ink pads so I used the Sage marker to color.

I bought this stamp set right after the above two.  But I sold it in a garage sale because I never used it.  Then when I became a SU! demonstrator I decided I had to have it.  So I bought it from Shellie!  LOL  It's called "Some Like it Hot" and this general card idea was in the Idea Book as well.  :)   I used the Brocade Blue again, a green I can't remember, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Pacific Point.  I used a white gel pen to draw the lines.
This final card uses my favorite retired set from 2010.  It's called Tropical Party.  It features some of the new colors coming out in June - the base is using Bermuda Bay.  This also happens to be my new favorite color from the Brights collection!  I "CASE'd" this idea from the May/ June issue of Stampin' Success which is a free magazine offered to Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  All of the colors are current (or coming soon) - the stamp set is the only "retired" item!

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to add some commenting love (we love comments!).  I will be picking one comment at random (well my boyfriend will pick a number) and that person will receive a prize!!!  Who doesn't LOVE prizes?

Hop along the "Retired" path to see what pretty creations Nancy came up with today!
