Countdown to Sale-a-bration with "Celebrate Today"

Celebrate Today
Sale-a-bration starts Tuesday and I am SO EXCITED!  Only 6 days until you get an exclusive FREE product with every $50 purchase!  Make sure to subscribe to my blog and come back each day between now and January 6th to see sneak peeks!

I am in love with this stamp set and it will be featured on my "Five Card Friday" on Friday!  I am so excited to share the new Sale-A-Bration products and new Occasions Catalog products.  This card features the new Celebrate Today stamp set and coordinating Framelits.  I have been awaiting a balloon die cut for a long time and now my wait is over!  I love this set!
I made this into my favorite, a shaker card!  I used a clear envelope (I had to cut the top and one side off) and added the in-color sequins to it and closed all of the sides using Sticky Strip.  Super easy!  Do you love the banner?  If you guessed that they came from the same framelits, you are right!  I also used the new Sale-a-bration exclusive Designer Series Paper pack.  It's called "Best Year Ever" and it has a coordinating stamp set and Accessory Pack - which you will LOVE!

Please let me know if you have not received your Occasions or Sale-a-bration Catalogs.  I can mail one out to you on Friday! Come back tomorrow for more sneaks!

Shake, Shake, Shake: Shaker Cards using White Christmas

Shake, Shake, Shake
Shaker Cards are so popular right now!  I made these cards for my friends who have kids.  Have you made a shaker card before?  I stamped the snow background using one of the My Paper Pumpkin stamps from November.  It's perfect for this card!  For this card I used pure Stampin' Glitter.
Here's a close up of the snowman shaker!  I used the Shaker Circles that Stampin' Up! offers.
This is the same card but using the polar bear.  Isn't he super cute?  I love the cardinals too!  This time I added some silver stampin' glitter glass (retired).
I made two tags as well using the same technique.  I added some fake snow to the shaker along with the two different glitters.

Christmas is almost here and tonight I am wrapping presents (while watching some tv).  I plan to make a card (or two) for you to see tomorrow.  Please take a few moments and relax.  The hardest thing at the holidays is knowing when to stop.  Sometimes you just need a few moments to take it all in.... off to wrap some presents!

DIY Christmas Card Book Tutorial

Have you ever wondered what to do with all of those beautiful Christmas cards you receive in the mail each year?  I have and this year I have a solution for you (and me)!  Instead of throwing the cards into a box (never to be seen again), I made a Christmas Card book!  You might be wondering what this is and even more importantly, how hard is it to make?  Easy!
To make my book I cut some chip board (I used the piece that comes in a 12/x12 pack of Designer Series Paper).  I cut two pieces of the chip board to 8.5" x 5.5".  I covered each piece with Designer Series Paper (same size) using my Fast Fuse because I wanted to make sure it didn't come up!
Then I organized all of my cards by size.  I punched a 1/4" hole in the corner of each card using the handheld punch.
That top card is made by my Aunt Darlene, it's so sparkly in person!
This is just the back piece that I covered in matching paper from the Nordic Noel DSP pack!
Finally I stacked up all the cards, my front and back - then used a library clip to hold them all into place.  I am not sure if that's the actual name - library clip - but that is what I call it.  You can get them at any Office Supply Store.
This is what the front cover looks like. I  colored each rhinestone with the new Blendabilities markers.  Doesn't it add so much to the design?  I stamped the Cheerful Christmas image in Garden Green ink and then cut it out using the Labels Collection Framelit Dies.

Cheerful Christmas Stamp Set #135149/ $17.95
Labels Collection Framelit Dies #125598/ $26.95
Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper #135822/ #10.95
Garden Green Ink #126973/ $5.95
Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities Markers #130995/ $11.95
Rhinestones #119246/ $4.95
Chip Board (from a Designer Series Paper pack)

Bonus Project:
I started wrapping presents today and this gift is for one of my aunt's.  I used the current wrapping paper from the Holiday Catalog.  I added retired ribbon and a tag I made several years ago.  This year I have been really enjoying using pretty ribbon and paper!  I hope you love this as much as I do... if you'd like to order the wrapping paper (for next year), it's on the clearance rack for only $6.99.  Use #135828 in the online store!  You will get two rolls - this one and the other one is striped!

It's beginning to look like Christmas... with notecards and a DIY project

I am sorry I have been MIA... life has been crazy and I had to finish Christmas shopping, started baking (look for some posts coming about that too) and decorating.  You know the drill!  Blogging was on the backseat - but now I am back!

Today I have an EASY thank you card!  Oh, and I didn't forget about 5 cards, one stamp set!  You will be seeing that again (maybe tonight if I get the pictures taken!).  I wanted to post the cards I made to send home today with any gifts I receive at school!  Super cute, simple and only took me 10 minutes to create!
To make this you will literally need: stamps, ink and paper.  I created the border using two shades of green and the Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I used the Pistachio Pudding for the lighter shade and then stamped the Wild Wasabi over top!
I then stamped the single stamp Watercolor Thank You in Real Red ink - super simple right?  Wondering what I used to make these easy cards?  Our notecards!  They are pre-cut and perfect for quick thank you notes!  Plus you get 20 cards and 20 envelopes for only $5.95.
Wondering about my decoration?  I made this simple DIY project using salt, mini trees and pinecones.  I already had the big hurricane vase in my cabinet (you can use any big glass jar).  I filled it with pure table salt (50 cents each at Walmart).  Then I found the trees in Walmart by their little Christmas Village stuff.  The pinecones and mini cinnamon sticks came in a bag from Michaels.  This project cost me $7 but I have tons of pinecones and cinnamon sticks left over.

Come back tomorrow for another quick and easy stamping project and DIY bonus!

Easy Christmas Treat Thursday

Everyone needs little gifts...
This is the perfect gift to give the postman/ woman, hair stylist, animal groomer, etc... I made these for Halloween except this time, I made a basic topper using a 4 1/4" square folded in half for the topper.  So EASY!
I just realized that one of the candies is upside down - oh' well!  LOL  I used the Get Your Santa On Stamp Set.  I stamped the Santa Suit in black and colored using the Blendabilities Markers.  I then added glue and sprinkled it with Sparkly Fluff (non-Stampin' Up!).  The fluff makes the suit look "fluffy" and soft!  Wondering what bags I used?  Stampin' Up! sells 4x6 treat bags - I just folded down the top and stapled it.

Want to see more?  Hop over to my facebook page here and check out the extra example I made for you this morning!  Make sure to like the photo and follow me to make sure you don't miss future posts!

Go ahead, make some of these cute little treats to have on hand for a little Holiday gift!

Wacky Wednesday: Emboss Resist with "Big News"

Wacky Wednesday... rainbows?
I made this card using the Emboss Resist Technique.  What is this technique?  Emboss an image using white or clear embossing powder... then sponge ink over top.  For this particular card, I used 6 different colors (from the Stampin' Up! Brights family) to create the rainbow effect.
I layered my image on Silver Sparkle Card Stock - but before I did that, I punched out the stars.  I love how the Confetti Star Punch looks with the silver peeking through!  Adorable!  Everything is layered atop Rich Razzleberry Card Stock.  Have you checked out the Confetti Star Punch?  Here's a close-up picture for you:
Order it using #135861 for $21.95.
Don't forget that you can use the punched out "stars" for confetti as a surprise in an envelope or in a shaker card!

See you tomorrow for SEVERAL holiday treats!

Technique Tuesday: Notecard Set - for Baby

Need a gift?
Recently I needed a gift for a friend who is having a baby (tomorrow!!).  I knew I wanted to make a set of notecards for her. She loves to stamp and scrap, so I knew she'd appreciate the sentiment!  I grabbed the Lullaby Designer Series Paper and cut 1 1/2" x 5" strips of it.  I picked one sheet that I liked both sides.  The great thing about the piece I picked is that it works for both boy or girl (since we don't know the gender yet).
I stamped a quick sentiment from Lots of Thanks (clear mount #129690/ $16.95).  This is a great stamp set, especially right now when we need LOTS of thank you cards (come back tomorrow for another gift set of notecards).
Zoo Babies is the name of the adorable stamp set that I used for the baby lion - you can order it using #130456 for clear mount ($19.95).   Did I mention that I used a set of our notecards with envelopes?  Super simple, especially when you need a gift.  You get 20 notecards and envelopes for $5.95 (#131527).
This picture features how I wrapped it all together using the Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon and a Sneak Peek of a new stamp set coming out in January!  I punched a tag and added some twine to it.
How's that for a Happy New Baby gift?  It took me less than an hour to make a set of 10 notecards and the coordinating packaging!  Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to do with matching colors, punches and stamp sets!

Thank you for following me and please come back tomorrow to see another quick and easy notecard set (it will be focused more toward Christmas!).

Merry Monday with Gentle Peace

Need a quick card?  CASE it!
Yes, CASE it!  CASE stands for "copy and share everything" and I definitely did that here!  I copied this card directly from Brian King.  I honestly don't think I changed anything because he did an amazing job coloring.  Wait, I did "pop" up the window scene to give it dimension!  I have to admit, the Blendabilities make me very nervous, especially since I haven't played with the very much!
This card features the Gentle Peace Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I ordered it mostly because the stained glass window reminds me of the church I grew up attending in Michigan.  It had probably 10 different stained glass window scenes and this was similar to one of them.  I remember staring at the during church and being mesmerized by their beauty.

Gentle Peace Stamp Set #139523/ $15.95
Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight Card Stock
Blendabilities: Crumb Cake, Skin Tones, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana
Momento Black Ink
Chocolate Chip Stampin' Ink
Stampin' Dimensionals (to pop up the window scene)

See you tomorrow for Technique Tuesday!

Five Cards, One Stamp Set: "Mingle All the Way"

Five Cards, One Stamp Set using "Mingle All the Way"
This is one of my favorite Stamp Sets right now.  I love the 5 different images and have been enjoying creating different things using it.  Here are the images included:
#135773/ $17.95

The first example uses Real Read and Whisper White along with a coordinating paper from the Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper Pack.  I added Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the snowflakes and dots around the sentiment.
This is a fun example of how you you can use this stamp as a tag as well!  I stamped it in Garden Green and then punched out using the 2" punch and then punched out a 2 1/2" circle to layer it on.  I punched a 1/4" hole in the top and strung it using White Twine.  Do you love the paper bow?  It's using our Bow Bigz XL die.
This card using the Nordic Noel Paper again and the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I think it turned out super cute (I did case some of the ideas on this card).
This card isn't the "normal" Christmas colors - I used Blackberry Bliss and Gold.  I embossed the image in Gold Embossing Powder and I love how shiny it is!  I also colored in the "cheer" using a Blender Pen and Blackberry Bliss ink.  Adding those two little sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim added a lot of "pretty" to this card!  Don't forget that Gold Embossed Vellum!
This card is a complete case from myself!  I used this same card earlier with a different stamp set.  Have you done that before?  I had extra supplies left over from a class so I figured I might as well use them all up!

Want to see more?
There's a 6th example here using the Halloween Stamp if you'd like to check that out as well!  Log into pinterest and search "Mingle All the Way Stampin' Up!" to find tons of other examples!

Thanks so much for following me!  Please follow me on my blog!  Once I reach 75 followers I will have a Project Life blog candy!!!

Fab Friday Color Challenge #56

Fab Friday Color Challenge
I have noticed a lot of cards like this one online and I wanted to do something similar with all the stars!  I have to admit, it was difficult getting all of the colors into one layout!

This card is a 4x6 card and if I made another, I'd made it even longer, maybe 4x8. Even so, I really like the way it turned out and I'd love to do this with a birthday theme!

Tonight I will release my Five Cards, One Stamp Set post!  Check back after 5pm EST!  :)

Easy Treat Holder: Gum Package

Do you need a super easy gift for someone?
You will LOVE this easy gift and it's super FAST!  It always helps when something is adorable as well, right?  Here's what we will be making today so grab a pack of gum and get ready to make a package for it!  I plan on making these for some of the staff at my school.  Ronda Wade showed me how to make these and I am in LOVE with them!
Directions for making this Gum Holder:
1. Grab a 6x6 sheet of Designer Series Paper (any pattern).
2. Put Sticky Strip or Fast Fuse (I used Fast Fuse) on 3 sides/ edges.
3. Put the gum packet in the middle of the paper and fold in (like you are wrapping a present) the side that has NO adhesive on it.
4.  Fold the opposite side up and over the non-adhesive side and adhere.
5. Press both sides together like above (since they already have adhesive on them, it should be easy).
6. Decorate as desired.
I used the All is Calm Designer Series Paper to make these gifts, but you can use any variety of papers!
For both projects I stamped a monogram and layered punches to make it look super cute.  You can put a cute Christmas tag here instead!
Do you love the ribbon I used?  It's the Satin 5/8" ribbon, you get 10 yards for only $5.95.  It comes in 4 basic colors: white, vanilla, silver and gold which makes it perfect for gift giving!

Let me know if you have questions!  See you tomorrow!

Technique Tuesday: Plaid Background Birthday Card

Technique Tuesday: Plaid Background
Along with some new additions to my blog you will see a Technique Tuesday every week!  Sometimes it might be an easy technique, sometimes it might be more difficult.  This week I have an easy card for you!
We are doing December Birthday Cards today over at SSInk (click on the link above to check out the other Birthday cards!!) and this works perfectly for me since I have lots of December birthdays!  Three out of four of our parents are in December - two on the same day!  If you think it's hard finding presents for your parents at Christmas, try Christmas and their birthdays all in one month!  Anyway, enough whining from me... today I have new technique.  Check out the card and keep reading!
You might look at this card and immediately think Stampin' Up! came out with a new background stamp, right?  This is not the case!  This background came from one stamp, stamped several times going one way, then I turned the paper and stamped it on a diagonal to make the plaid background!

Wondering what stamp set I used?
Wait for it.... wait for it.... it's a new set you probably never thought about buying!
It's called "High Five" and I used the bottom stamp - which works perfectly for the plaid pattern!  I am not a perfectionist so lining the up didn't work for me, but you certainly could take out your stamp-a-ma-jig and line up those patterns.  If you love it and want to order it, use #133964 for only $18.95!

Once I stamped those in Bermuda Bay, I added the greeting from Birthday Surprise in Real Red.  I love the images in this stamp set as well!  You can order it from my online store using #134120 for only $17.95,
Thank you for visiting my "Technique Tuesday" and I will see you back here next week for another fun and simple technique!

Merry Monday: "Making Spirits Bright"

Making Spirits Bright
It's a Merry Monday!  I can't believe it is December already!  I am loving playing with all of my Christmas stamp sets.  I did a little shopping last week and will hopefully get a bit more done this weekend!  My plan is to really shop next weekend (this week is crazy!!!).  We don't have a lot of presents to buy, but we do need some gifts (birthday and Christmas) for my parents and his mom.  Yep, 3 out of 4 of our parents were born in December (his mom and my dad on the same day).

Anyway, this card will be featured at my clubs this month.  I love the stars embossing folder - it really pulls everything together to make this adorable card.
Wondering what colors I used?  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Sahara Sand come together to make this adorable card.
Love the ink around the edges?  I used a sponge dipped in the Sahara Sand ink.
This extra card is just stepped up to feature the Cherry Cobbler Twine and an extra layer of card stock below the sentiment/ picture!
