Definitely Dahlia with Washi Tape

Definitely loving the Dahlia!
This background stamp sure packs a punch whether you emboss (like I did in yesterday's post) or you stamp tone on tone (like today).  In case you missed my post yesterday, check it out here.  I also posted another example on my facebook page and you can check that out here.  This example is from the Stampin' Up! catalog - I changed it a bit but I really love their examples!
It looks like I used two different ink and card stock colors, but I didn't.  I stamped the Dahlia stamp in Pink Pirouette onto the same color card stock!  Isn't the look stunning?  I stamped the black Staz-on ink onto the Vellum.  I used the candy dots to cover up the glue dots that I used to adhere the vellum to the card stock.  Love the look of washi tape?  You are in luck!  We have a new pack of washi tape that is black, silver and white with several patterns (I have no idea where my washi tape came from, it's either in a Project Life kit or it is retired).

Emboss Resist using "Definitely Dahlia"

Definitely Dahlia is my favorite!
Good Afternoon!  How do you like my new blog look?  I worked on it all day yesterday during the rainy day!  Who goes on vacation and completely overhauls their blog?  ME!  I'd love comments on how you like it!  I have a few more things to add (few more flags on the right) but those will come as I add more features to my blog!  Yes, new features are coming soon!

This card was made at a workshop a few weeks ago with a group of ladies that I love to stamp with!  The hostess asked me to make a card using the Emboss Resist technique.  Not sure what that is?  Keep scrolling to find some quick steps for embossing!
I used the Butterfly Basics Bundle to make the butterfly and I popped it up and added Gold Sequin Trim to it's body.  I love purples and the combination between Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant is simply gorgeous!  I added some single sequins to the inside of the card with the sentiment.
Steps for Emboss Resist:
1.  Stamp your image using a Versamark Ink Pad.
2.  Sprinkle on your embossing powder (you can use any color but I used white).
3.  Heat the embossing powder until the powder turns into a glossy finish.
4.  Grab a sponge, ink it up, brush off some ink on scrap paper (so it's not too dark).
5.  Rubbing the sponge over the image in a circular motion.  I just barely went on the outside of the image (for a shadow).  You will notice that the embossing "resists" the ink.
6.  Once you have the desired affect, gently rub a klennex over the embossing to take off any extra ink.

Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Birthday Card

Birthday Treat Bag Card
Good Afternoon!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend as much as we are!  We have been swimming every day on our vacation, taking long walks at night and just enjoying catching up on life.  Arnie is enjoying the extra time with Mommy and Daddy... and getting a little sun himself.
You can see him laying on a beach towel by the pool, complete with his visor.  We definitely have the cutest dog ever!  Anyway... let's talk about stamping!  I wanted to make a card using the Treat Bag Thinlit to make a birthday card.  I used the new in-colors (I am obsessed with these colors).
This diagonal strip DSP is to die for!  I am so in love with the new paper stacks!  The Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper stack is used to make this belly band.  I did have to put two strips of paper together to make it work.  I saw this idea in the Stampin' Up! catalog but tweaked it for my likes.  I love the sentiment and flags from the Build a Birthday stamp set!
I made a card to slide on the inside (I used whisper white card stock).  Wondering about the pull-tab I made?  I just took a circle and folded it in half and adhered on both sides of the paper.  I added the candles using the same stamp set and then added some Crushed Curry "flames" and twine.  Perfect card for a summer birthday (and you can attach a gift card to the "card" portion).

Did you know that Stampin' Up! offers Weekly Deals?  Every Tuesday-Monday they have a list of items "on sale". This week the Treat Bag Thinlit is on sale - it ends tomorrow so shop now! Check out the weekly deals below!

PS: I added something onto my blog... all of the blogs that I love to follow (I am updating it still) are listed on the bottom right of my blog.  A lot of you have asked who I like to follow and see their designs.  I listed those card makers who "inspire" me.  Feel free to check back often to see who is inspiring me by subscribing to my blog!

You're Sublime for Fab Friday #67

Fab Friday In-Color Challenge
This week over at Fab Friday we have a challenge for you using the new in-colors.  I am really starting to fall in love with these colors so I was excited to use them for my project.  Can you guess which color is my favorite?
I didn't love this stamp set at first - You're Sublime.  It was this image that helped me to fall in love with this set.  I remember being a kid in Michigan... we had a wheel barrel and I would help my mom with our gardening.  I loved filling up the wheel barrel with various items (even friends) and "dumping" them out!  This stamp set is so fun and it works perfect for all the new in-colors!
Are you wondering how I made this card?  I punched a piece of typing paper with the 2 1/2" circle punch.  Then I used temporary adhesive to place it in the middle of the white card stock.  Then I stamped the Dots for Days background stamp using Cucumber Crush Ink.  Once I pulled off the piece of typing paper I was left with a white circle (to stamp my image).  Super easy!  I promise to make a tutorial soon (once I am home from vacation) so I can show you this tutorial in person (via you tube).

All of the products I used in this project are listed at the bottom of the post!  Let me know if you love this card!  Weekend Special: hop over to my facebook page here and check out two other designs using this stamp set this weekend!

Thanks for picking me as your demonstrator!  Let me know how I can help you.... post me a comment or write me an email!

Encouragement with Rainbows with "Over the Rainbow"

I love rainbows...
I get it from my mom (so legally)!  I love rainbows... I love how all of the colors come together to form this beautiful sight!  So when I saw the new catalog and the "Over the Rainbow" stamp set, I knew I had to get it!  This stamp set is on page 21 in the Annual Catalog and you will notice that I cased this card from the ideas on the page.
I did switch up the card on page 21 by adding the gold sequin trim (you need this in your life) and the Designer Series Paper.  Check out the supply list at the bottom of this post.  Before you do that though, I have a second version (with a different sentiment).
For this card I used the gold ribbon (on SALE this week) with the sequins (I pulled off some and used glue dots to adhere to the card).  Have you checked out my facebook page?  I have an additional card idea there!  Please go there and "like" my page so you don't miss out on any ideas I post there!

Crazy About You and bundles!

Crazy About You and Bundles
Well summer is in full swing and I still have so much going on... and now I tripped on uneven cement on our sidewalk.  At first I thought I could just walk it off but almost 48 hours later and I am still in pain.  I am icing it, keeping it up and resting.  Today the pain is half what it was yesterday.  Seems I pulled or sprained a muscle.  Hoping it continues to heal daily.

Back to what you are here for: cards!  I made this card for my Thank You card stamp a stack last week!  The ladies loved this card and enjoyed making it.  It uses two of my favorite new in-colors: Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush,  See the bottom of this post for an entire supply list.
Are you wondering how I glued the sentiment to the card?  I used the two-way glue pen and just gently put the glue on it (without pushing too hard).

May My Paper Pumpkin: Birthday Bundle Extras

MPP: Birthday Bundle Extras
I made several extra projects for the May My Paper Pumpkin subscription.  I used a few extra supplies, mostly card stock and ink.  I love that this kit came with both gift bags and cards.  What a versatile kit!
I am quite proud of the project I will share with you today.  I decided to take apart one of the gift bags to make a shaker card.
I used the thin foam tape strips and the sequins from a previous My Paper Pumpkin kit to make the shaker frames.  Super quick, easy and fun!

Thanks for following me and be sure to check back tomorrow for another post!
