Watercoloring with Stylized Birthday

TGIF!  Yesterday was a relaxing day filled with lots of reading and napping.  LOL No exaggerating here, only truth.  Vacation is the best!  I am excited to share my cards today, so let's get right to it.  I used a technique that I learned from my friend Erica to make the watercolored rainbow background.
Wondering how I made the background?  First, I stamped the Stylized Birthday stamp and heat embossed using black embossing powder.  I used Watercolor paper, my Aqua Painters and my Stampin' Up! ink pads.  I dampened the background of the watercolor paper with plain water (not too wet, just damp).  Then, I used the different colored inks and colored in strips.  I did overlap the colors to blend them.  Finally, I let them dry slightly, then went back and did it all again.  This gives a brighter color.
You can see that I used the fun new Designer Series Paper called Festive Birthday.  It is seriously the cutest paper - I love how bright and cheerful it is!  I used two of the prints because I couldn't decide which I liked the best.  I also used some of the new Pom Pom Trim, it is flat and lays under the second layer of ovals.  I also added some of the new Enamel Shapes.

Would you like to see this technique on a video?  Leave me a comment if you would like see it in action!

YES YES YES ~ Please do a video! I think both of these cards are stunning! Such bright, cheerful colors. I've water colored before, but have not gone back again to make it brighter. I'd love to see how you did this. Gorgeous cards! TFS
